Overview

Tax practitioners may find themselves advising business and individual clients on health insurance issues and changes in health insurance. This program is an overview of the rules regarding when large employers must offer health insurance coverage to employees and what kind must be offered, as well as small-business employer choices for offering insurance on an optional basis. The panelists will also discuss pass-through entities providing health insurance to owners and employees, including employees who are related to owners but are not owners themselves.

Major Topics:

  • At what size a company is required to offer ACA compliant medical coverage
  • What penalties apply for not offering ACA compliant medical coverage
  • When an individual should enroll in Medicare
  • How employers can offer guidance to employees about their options
  • Tax compliance associated with pass-through entities providing health insurance to owners
  • What’s new in health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs)
  • How the QSEHRA option compares to the newer HRA options
